I met my friend a few months ago and it was one of the most interesting meetings I’ve ever had than most. She was an answer to prayer, honestly.
Her story is not one that most people like to bring to the table. Like those in our age group, she was hard-headed and would not listen to anybody when it was brought to her attention that her boyfriend would only damage her. She wouldn’t listen to wisdom and so for 2 years, she suffered.
The day she moved into her boyfriend’s home was the day her life changed. Drastically. Her boyfriend held her hostage for two years, forcing her to break off ties with her friends, family, and the rest of the world.
Some would say that this was entirely her fault.
It was. She herself admits as much.
It was also Satan.
And demons.
The main purpose of my post today is to make you aware of the coming dangers in this world. Satan is at work. He plays for keeps. He is also listening to your prayers.
So are the demonic forces.
In Daniel 10:21, an angel of the Lord tells Daniel that he was supposed to deliver a message from God to him but was 21 days late because he had to fight against the “Prince of Persia”. He ends by saying that the chief of angels, Michael, had to help him war against this “prince” and that later he would have to go to war against the “Prince of Greece”.
My dear friends, this angel of the Lord was talking about demonic princes in charge of certain countries.
The Bible calls the devil the “Prince and Power of the Air” or the “Prince of this world”. There is nothing royal about this title. Instead, it is partially a taunting remark and at the same time a look into how God sees these demonic forces.
No, they are not God’s allies; however, God has allowed them to take control of the earth in certain ways. This is why the Bible says “Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life”. It is not talking about the muscle that beats 24-7, it is talking about your mind.
This was what my friend was saying.
She realized that all those negative characteristics she thought about herself, such as her body image, her beauty, her intelligence level, and many other thoughts are in fact demons. This led her to believe that her boyfriend was right to belittle her. She told me that she never wanted to smoke weed in her life. When she got with her boyfriend (for the last time) she did. She believed that when she had intercourse with this man, she not only took on the demons that plagued her life but she also took on the demons that plagued this man’s life.
Ladies and gentlemen. This is the world we live in. This is dangerous.
We are allowing demons into our lives unaware.
These demons are not just in people who walk around talking to themselves. These are not just witches and sorcerers.
These are in everyday things we see, all the time.
There are demons in charge of pornography. Yes, I said it. These demons seek to overrun our media, clothes, and books with filth. The nudity of a woman or man should remain secret, and not be open to the public.
There are demons over anger. Yes! The very anger you hold toward someone for only a second is a thought that was conceived and could turn into an action if you are not careful.
There are demons that are in charge of sexual sins. I’m talking about the umbrella of sexual wrongdoing: beastality, homosexuality, adultery, and fornication.
There are demons over rebellion. Yes! If you don’t believe me check this out: “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity [sin you know about and still do it anyway] and idolatry [idol worship]…” (I Samuel 15:23). The Bible says that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and witchcraft is also an abomination to God. These demons encourage children to get angry with their parents for no good reason other than they don’t like being told what to do. I’m guilty of this myself. Are you? These demons encourage people to be secretive about their “double lives”.
These demons are actively pursuing people in our world today. They are causing chaos even more so now because they know their time is almost up. This is why they are going for our younger generations.
Children.
Teenagers.
Young Adults.
After talking to my friend, I realized that demons are not your everyday monsters with horns. This is outside of ourselves. These are spiritual forces. Ephesians 6:12 says, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. This is not your friendly neighborhood Spiderman movie. These are not Marvel bad guys or Star Wars antagonists. These “rulers of the darkness of this world” are nothing close to what Hollywood portrays as evil. It is much worse.
These rulers of darkness can influence you in ways you wouldn’t have thought imaginable. These principalities will drive the very body you call your own. This spiritual wickedness will take over your mind until you cannot even remember your own name, or use your own voice. I think about the countless people Jesus saved in the gospels from the deaf and mute spirits.
I am here to warn you.
Watch.
Jesus said this in the Bible:
For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants [Christians], and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch” (Mark 13:34-37).
It is not about your next boyfriend or girlfriend. It is not about your next paycheck. It is not about your next big “break”. It’s not about your career. It’s not about your status. It’s not about how much money you have. It’s not about how you carry yourself. It’s not about the clothes you wear. It’s not about who or what you know. It’s about your soul; it is about your relationship with God.
Ask yourself, am I willing?
Am I ready?
Am I intimate enough with God to dwell in the shadow of His wings?
Am I willing to drop everything, when society fails, and follow God?
Am I willing to cry out to God when everything fails?
Am I understanding what demons are?
Am I watching what I say, my lifestyle, my actions?
Is my life pleasing to God?
If I died right now, would I spend eternal life with my Creator?
These are hard questions I know, but I find myself in countless conversations with young people asking these questions. This year marks a different era. It is different from the past. This era marks much more than we know. If you are a firm believer and a grounded Christian, you can sense that this year feels different. You can look around you and notice that there are signs. We are approaching the end. Sure many people say this, but even more so.
God is making Himself known to those who will have Him.
Each day should be working toward eternal life. Each day should be pulling you closer to God.
Don’t spend another day separate from Him.
Satan and his demons do not appreciate that I have told you all this, but I pray that the words I say will come to life and your eyes become opened to the world around you. I pray that the scriptures I’ve used will cause you to ask other questions. I pray that after you read this God will use everything around you to speak the truth. I pray that your heart will grow sensitive as you listen to His still small voice.
