Today’s post is probably going to be short, but I just wanted to encourage everyone personally. Whatever you are going through right now, trust in God. At the end of the verse in Hebrews 13:5, we are encouraged by the thought that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us.
I recently listened to this motivational speaker talking about success. He explained that if you want success bad enough, you’ll do anything to get it. This encouraged me because I have had my doubts about school. School can be hard, people! Sometimes I don’t understand people who “love school.” It would be better for me to have all the knowledge I needed instantly, but that would not make room for life lessons. As much as school can be a hassle it can also build character. Traditional schools help you learn how to interact with others. It gives you an insight into the world around you, surrounding you with hundreds of cultures and backgrounds. Homeschoolers build a sense of self-reliance. Most of the time, they can teach themselves many different concepts without the help of a teacher (and since I’ve been in this environment, I can say from experience that this helps you get ahead). This is off the subject, though.
The point is this motivational speaker made me realize even more so that “to fail” is an action, but “failing” is a mindset. I have failed quizzes and tests; I have lost things around my house; I misunderstand people around me, but I have a terrible time adjusting to the fact I failed. When I fail, I beat myself up for it. I question if my IQ level is even worth being a human being. I wonder if my study methods are useless. I wonder if it is worth me ever trying again. This is the wrong mindset for me to have.

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” —Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein failed at times as he grew up. He was told that he would never amount to anything. Don’t believe me? Look it up yourself. Nowadays, we use Einstein’s methods as one of the only formulas for chemistry. Crazy, huh?
If you believe that you are going to fail, then you will. If you believe that you will get better results, then it will happen. It all depends on you, but it takes time.
Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…”. So, if you believe you are a failure, or you are not fit to live, then you are. I know this might sound harsh, but my point is you must start a change in your thinking.

“Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” —Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill was a world hero during WWII. He failed multiple times. He lost hundreds of men. Still, he chose to put his life on the line to save his country and the lives of innocent people.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” —Thomas Edison

We all should know Thomas Alva Edison. He is the reason you are probably sitting in a room with lightbulbs, surging with electricity! He went on to create countless more inventions, including the first camera! He failed 10,000+ times with the lightbulb alone, but he did not incorporate these failed attempts into his mindset as a failing person. He chose to see this as success in progress.

“Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out.” —Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity while hanging from a tree and flying his kite through a lightning storm! Most people usually die. Did you know that he was afraid to even be up on that tree?
All these people, plus millions of people around the world, have experienced failure. It is part of being human, but don’t let failure define you. Step out on faith. Make that life-changing decision to succeed. You will be happier when you have the desire to succeed. This does not mean that life will get easier when you change your mindset, I’m saying that it will downgrade the stress people put on themselves to succeed when they already believe they will fail.
I encourage you to watch this video. Tell me what you think and if this helped you at all. Jesus loves you so much, my dear friend.
